The radio artwork “giza é ruh”, which was arranged for Kunstradio OE1 in dolby surround, was created out of (field)recordings that were all done by the artists themselves during their three months travelling through northern India.

In sufism “gia é ruh“ describes sound/music – directly translated it means “food for the soul”.

The composition itself reasambles a “soundjourney” through places of different musical aestethics and unique sonic worlds. It explores the different ways how sound is used as spiritual source or in normal daily life.
There won´t be any use of voice overs , so it´s all up to the listeners imagination.

The Artists in the Studio RP3 in the ORF Funkhaus Vienna

The soundaterial includes religious music / ceremonies by buddhist, muslim, hindu and sikh culture, traditional music & instruments from tibet, ladakh & northern india.
