The voice of the author ist the substance which the series "Literature as Radio Art", produced by Kunstradio since 1999, is dedicated to. With Margret Kreidl and Martin Prinz, two notable writers from Vienna who form their texts can be heard - beyond the borders of traditional genres like readings or radio plays - as polyphonic vocal plays. Space is the thematic navigation system for both authors, still their texts and acoustic re-arrangements could hardly be more different:
In "Spuren, Schwärme" ("Tracks, Swarms"), Margret Kreidl composes a dialectical field of absence and presence by means of enumeratively assembling plant topographies listed in an insects encyclopedia as biotops for different species.
Martin Prinz, on the other hand, sends the main character of his highly praised novel "Der Räuber" across the fields in an endurance run. The loneliness of his long-distance runner unites acoustic atmospheres of the traversed topography with the echoes of inner voices as a compelling acoustic image.
menschliche Züge erhalten, verleiht ihnen Norbert Brunner

Parallel to his exhibition at the Secession in Vienna (July 4 to September 7) the artist Norbert Brunner has composed a radio play for ORF Kunstradio. His complete oeuvre is characterized through his confrontation with language - in audio installations or experimental radio plays, but also in his drawings or literary-artistic texts.
At the Secession, Norbert Brunner shows a series of works with the title "Im Spiegel der Psyche" cojoining a cycle of drawings as well as an experimental radio play. The artist has visualized the psyche - a term which, in Austria, not only describes emotional-mental functions, but also refers to a dressing table - in his drawing in images of a bedroom and its furniture. In terms of language, he has adapted this situation in the radio play for four voices: the four voices refer to the pieces of furniture depicted in the imaginary room (bed, nightstand etc.). As in the drawings where the furniture receives human features through the artistic design of the depiction, Norbert Brunner also gives them a quite individual character by creating a kind of inner monologue with the texts assigned to the single pieces of furniture.
