Arvind Thadhani, an immigrant raised in Montreal as an eastern Canadian, is a veteran of North American highway wanderlust. After spending two years living in a vehicle he earned the dubious inclusion in a shadowy group called 'rubber barons'. This describes a migrant segment of the population who live like the inveterate train hoppers of yore and yet are often priveleged travellers with the advantage of 'rubber' meaning wheels and clean rest stops.
