RADIO AS A MEDIUM FOR ART An earfull of radio revolution from the Kunstradio Archives. ORF KUNSTRADIO is 10 years old ... the first broadcast took place on the 3rd of December 1987 ... and in those 10 years both art and radio have changed almost beyond recognition. Not only have the Broadcasting monopolies (commercial and public) begun to crumble under the pressure of market ideology, but the traditional notion of "broadcasting" itself is being challenged by the digital network technologies. In the same way, music, literature and the visual arts are finding that their conventions and traditions are being undermined by the digital technologies: sampling, scanning, simulations, etc. KUNSTRADIO has been both an active participant and an objective witness to the revolution in both the concepts of art and in the broadcasting media.
