Jonathan Meese is a painter, sculptor and excessive performance artist. For his solo show „Fräulein Atlantis“ he transformed the hall of the Essl Collection (Klosterneuburg, Lower Austria) into a pressure chamber, in which objects, pictures and sounds merge into a volcanic flow. The composer Karlheinz Essl created a complex sound environment for this installation, using solely Meese’s voice and a realtime sound generator which creates unpredictable results, moments of alienation, shock and suprise.
