ZEITGLEICH - the CD

ZEITGLEICH was an exhibition which could be switched on, i.e. awakened to life, from one second to the next, and also switched off and made to vanish in the same manner. All that has remained is the work of Lawrence Weiner. Everything else lives on only in the memories of those who worked on and/or visited it. A vivid documentation is even more important than for an exhibition of art-objects. The CD-ROM attempts to contribute to such a documentation. It contains colour photographs, video-excerpts and sounds which cannot appear in a printed catalogue.

ZEITGLEICH - the CD is also an audio CD, i.e. some of the data is accessible with an audio CD player. With the audio CD it is possible to take an acoustic trip round the whole ZEITGLEICH exhibition, as Gehard Wieser did in summer 1994, when he recorded it using Kunstkopf technology.

ZEITGLEICH - the CD also contains all the texts of this catalogue. Anyone who wishes to quote from the texts can print them directly from the CD.

ZEITGLEICH - Die CD

ZEITGLEICH war eine Ausstellung, die von einer Sekunde zur anderen eingeschaltet, also zum Leben erweckt bzw. ausgeschaltet und zum Verschwinden gebracht werden konnte. Geblieben ist nur die Arbeit von Lawrence Weiner. Alles andere ist nur in der Erinnerung derer lebendig, die an der Ausstellung gearbeitet und/oder sie besucht haben. Umso wichtiger ist eine möglichst vielfältige Dokumentation. Diese wird mit der CD-ROM "ZEITGLEICH" versucht. Sie enthält Farbfotos, Videosequenzen und Klänge, die in einem Print-Katalog nicht erscheinen können.

ZEITGLEICH - die CD ist auch eine Audio-CD, d.h. ein Teil der Daten ist auch über einen Audio-CD-Player zugänglich. Es handelt sich dabei um einen akustischen Rundgang durch die Ausstellung.

ZEITGLEICH - die CD enthält außerdem alle Texte des gedruckten, zweisprachigen Ausstellungskataloges, d.h. wer aus diesen Texten zitieren will, kann die Zitate von der CD her gleich ausdrucken.
