ZEITGLEICH Radio Spots

ZEITGLEICH

6 advertising spots for radio (10, 15 and 20 seconds) - broadcast on Austrian radio, ORF, and on 107,7 FM

Digital speaking clock on the answering machine, last night's cloudburst, the MIDI time code on the screen, an unusual acoustic event on the radio: inputs to help people adapt their own time codes to events, spaces, persons.

Advertising as an input to synchronise an event with the time axis of the potential visitor.

Setting an acoustic time code, attracting attention, selling a product: advertising as a mirror of that product in a culture characterised by the voice of seduction and temptation. Repetition to engrave key concepts on the mind of the consumer: sound, light, interaction.

Time-sharing and multitasking - the use, in the electronic age, of the concept of discrete time at the threshold to every-day speech. The sound sample, the discrete wave along the time axis, simultaneity as the synchronous processing of several tasks: sound, light, interaction.

Sampling as the re-contextualisation of speakers, arrangement of text, communication of the advertising message, transformation of sound. The association at the level of content: Using and processing telemetry sound from the Pegasus micro-meteoroid earth satellite permits the sound base for a version of the advertising spot to be created. Plus acoustic associations with the key concepts of the exhibition: sound, light, interaction.

ZEITGLEICH

Klang, Licht, Interaktion.
