RP4 - Examples of Austrian Radio Art

In September 1990 ORF KUNSTRADIO invited 17 visual artists, composers and writers to participate in a workshop held in the ORF's digital radio-drama studio.
(View of RP4 with the Panorama Camera)

After the workshop the participants were invited to each produce a piece in the digital studio. These pieces were broadcast in 1991 on the ORF KUNSTRADIO and then collected on 5 CDs - with the exception of the contribution of Helmut Mark, who decided to do a live broadcast. Gerhard Wieser, who was the sound engineer of all pieces added a personal "reflection" on his work with the different participants.

The pieces are very different from each other and give an interesting opportunity to compare how visual artists, composers and writers with entirely different backgrounds create work for the radio medium.

Artistic director: Arsenije Jovanovic.
Technical directors: Zoran Jerkovic and Gerhard Wieser.
