"one level, of course, was to receive sounds from outer space or more
terrestrial sources and incorporate those into soundart pieces of some kind,
whether it is music or some sort of atmospheric pieces or even some sort of
architecture which is built up from these different frequencies
another part was to hold a symposium about the idea of radio frequencies as
a specific form of new media not necessarily as sound art but as media to
impress your desires and your goals on to on and make an expression out
of..........
another kind of interest here has been using radio as an interface as kind
of data interface and as a way of communicating not only sounds but also
data and information. There is a few people who have been very interested in
using radio-waves as a very literal ethernet....
its very experimental, what we are doing. we dont expect to come out of it
with some hard and fast results. most of what will come out of it will be
people sharing ideas, technologies and sharing different visions for how you
can use radio transmissions and the air around us, this kind of physical
substance, as a form of new media."
