Dancefloor by Markus Hammer
The installation "Dancefloor" is basically based on the popular video game "Dance Dance Revolution" in which the player doesn't use the joypad, but a dancepad to control the game. Taken the fact that at a Birthday Party people should dance, Dancefloor offers the visitor the opportunity to dance in celebration of art, sending the dance moves to the scrambled bites data server to trigger remote events.
Dancefloor consists of a self made dancepad, a linux based pc with network card. the software to capture the dance moves and send them to the dataserver is written in python, using the pygame library.
