    born Baden, Austria 1955
Trained as a painter at the Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna , Eva Wohlgemuth was a teacher at Austrian high schools for ten years. At these times she explored and developed her original "Systems"-work.

In 1989, she began - in collaboration with Andreas Baumann(CH) - System I - "Around Vienna", a conceptual location sculpture system that would lead her around the world.

    Systems I-VII include:

    "A Trip to the Desert"
    "Moving Plates"
"Red means yellow, yellow means red"

"Room of Alenka Pirman - Ljubljana,Slovenija"

The System work of Eva Wohlgemuth is a mental network of objects, located geographically. Her interest in electronic networks grew out of her work of linking physical spaces to virtual realms.

Together with Kathy Rae Huffman, Wohlgemuth realized Internet communication works.
SIBERIAN DEAL an Internet artwork that examines real and virtual trading situations, was selected for numerous media art festivals internationally, and was awarded the prize for multimedia at the 9 Videofest, Berlin, 1996.

Together with Hanna Schimek Wohlgemuth explored the possibilities of online/art /work with "The Digest of Diana"

FACE SETTINGS, an Internet project by Wohlgemuth and Huffman, investigates communication between women, on-line and in real life, and established an on-line discussion for gender issues and the faces- mailing list.
