ON-SITE | Artist

neuroTransmitter (nT) founded in 2001, is a collaborative working specifically with radio machinations, propeling signals through urban membranes and cellular formations. For nT, the occupation of both ether and urban space simultaneously (through transmission and on-site performance) opens up platforms that shift positionalities and create collaborations between transmitter and receiver, body, sound, and the socio-spatial landscape.

neuroTransmitter creates site-specific, mobile, intermittent, local radio broadcasts throughout the urban terrain. nT produces public frequency performances that operate beneath boundaries set by commercial broadcast interests using the invisibility of the radio-sonic airwaves to render an alternate urban form.

To complement their fixed and mobile frequency performances, nT creates radio-sonic installations, produces music, and converts utilitarian objects into radio transmission and receiving devices. neuroTransmitter has created visual works, performed, and broadcasted live on local bandwiths in public spaces and galleries throughout New York City; Columbus, Ohio; Helsinki, Finland; Aarhus, Denmark; and Madrid, Spain. From 2003-2004, nT was a collaborative-in-residence with the research and development program at Eyebeam Atelier, NYC.
