an electro audio-visual performance by Roberto Paci Dalò
The project deals with audio materials from Radio GAP. Radio GAP (Global audio Project) was the radio station - created by a network of independent broadcasters - transmitting during July 19-21, 2001 in Genova against the G8 meeting. Voices and sounds captured live during those dramatic moments.
These voices are counterpointed with soundscapes materials coming from the large Giardini Pensili archive and mostly related to the common work with Kunstradio. The piece uses a multi-channel audio environment and live streams are part of it.
The visual aspect of the performance is based on Paci Dalò's urban explorations. Images coming from his personal video journal through different cities and landscapes across the world.
Somehow soundscapes & voices can be chosen as keywords in the long term relationship between Roberto Paci Dalò/Giardini Pensili and Kunstradio. Started already in 1989 this collaboration produced many works on-line/on-site/on-air, telematic performances, exhibitions, the international radio + art festival LADA L'Arte dell'Ascolto (Rimini 1991-1998), and the ante litteram webradio Radio Lada. The latest step of this on-going process, is the creation of L'Arte dell'Ascolto label who recently released its first CD: "In Two Worlds".
It's with deep gratitude, love and complicity to Kunstradio (and to RAI Audiobox), that "La linea rossa" is presented now within Re-inventing Radio. For the past and for the future.
