regional subnetworks - the backbone of horizontal radio
- A number of stations interlinked at the highest level possible
form the backbone of the overall network. Smaller stations with basic
lines join on to these stations. This leads to the formation of
regional subnetworks, which share high-quality lines to the next
subnetwork.
- This structure, which is typical of modern communications networks,
not only makes it easier to set up the line configuration of the
network, but facilitates artistic coordination. Furthermore, it
encourages the desired promotion of autonomous local events.
The following variant was discussed as a configuration for such
subnetworks:
-
North European network: Benelux, Scandinavia (possibly two subnetworks)
- Central European network: Austria (Linz), Slovenia, Czech Republic,
Poland, Hungary,...
- West European network: Switzerland, Germany, Austria (Innsbruck),
Italy (Bolzano)
- Mediterranean network: Italy (Rome, Neaples), Spain, Israel
- Atlantic network: Canada, London-Moscow axis
