PORT is an exhibition of Internet projects presented at the "MIT List Center for the Visual Arts" (Cambridge USA) and via internet from Jan. 24 to Mar. 29, 1997.
For one hour a week Helen Thorington's Turbulance project will feed a live RealAudio composition to the MIT server. The proposed composition creates an experimental basis for artistic suggestions and materials to add. On the one hand it should grow and change every week through the contributions of artists with access to RealAudio servers around the internet-community, on the other hand it will include the live contributions of improvising artists. The duration of the project is from January 31 to March 29 1997.
Vom 31. Jänner bis 29. März 1997 veranstaltet das MIT List Center for the Visual Arts die Ausstellung PORT über Internet-Projekte. Innerhalb dieses Projekts wird Helen Thorington (Turbulence Projekt) über den MIT Server einmal wöchentlich eine RealAudio Komposition anbieten, die als Improvisationsgrundlage für LivemusikerInnen und Internet-User mit RealAudio Zugang dienen soll. Im Zentrum des Vorhabens steht die Absicht, die Interessensvielfalt und Kreativitätsmöglichkeiten des Nets zu reflektieren.
