Svetlana Maras is composer and sound artist from Serbia. She studied music at Belgrade University of Art (Composition department), and attended many workshops, courses and festivals around the world, on the subject of electro-acoustic composition. She did her MA at Media Lab of Aalto University in Helsinki and was employed at the same department as a Research Assistant. She was two times awarded the scholarship by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, for studying abroad.

Svetlana works at the intersection of experimental music, sound art and new media. Her work encompasses wide variety of forms - live electronic music, performance, interactive sound installations, electro-acoustic compositions, radiophonic pieces, web applications, music for film and theatre. She presented her works internationally at venues, festivals and conferences such as Espace Multimedia Gantner (Bourogne), Onassis Cultural Centre (Athens), A38 (Budapest), Ausland (Berlin), Kunstradio-Radiokunst, Radio Belgrade, ICMC (New York), UCSD (San Diego), Orpheus Institute (Ghent), CTM (Berlin) among other places. She was awarded the Vitomir Bogic prize, for the best young radiohonic composer in Serbia in 2012. Svetlana is a member and co-founder of ImprovE - new music collective from Belgrade, as well as a member of ensemble Studio6 dedicated to performances of contemporary music. She currently lives in Belgrade.
