Alongside her interpretive and improvisational voice-art practice, Lore Lixenberg has evolved a compositional practice based purely on voice, that has three major features. Firstly, treatment of the voice, exploring extended vocal techniques and hyper-extensions of the voice (‘BIRD’ and ‘THE BIRD STUDIES’, pieces, exploring language and syntax through birdsong) Secondly, drawing on socially engaged practices (PRET A CHANTER, THE VOICE PARTY) and thirdly, exploring digital technologies and apps for their operatic dramatic potential regarding the language of code as libretto creating a new form - the APP-ERA, (SINGLR, VOXCOIN, IDENTITY THEFT).
She also incorporates comedy into her compositions for its timing, characters and possibilities for subversion.

After composition studies with Woolrich, Vores and Saxton, (also masterclasses with Peter Maxwell Davies) voice studies with Powell, Mason, Isepp and Vishnevskaya she also went on to apply bel canto singing physical theatre, comedy and free-improvisation with Simon Munnery, Richard Thomas, Stewart Lee and Theatre de Complicite (Simon McBurney). She has performed internationally on concert platforms and galleries, opera houses, in operas and has collaborated on experimental installations and vocal performances with experimental visual and sound artists like STELARC, Bruce Mclean, ORLAN, Georgina Starr, Imogen Sidworthy and David Toop.

Also her real-time political opera installation 'PRET A CHANTER' performances at The Hamburger Bahnhof Berlin, Ikon Gallery UK among others. She published an artist book ‚Memory Maps’, monographic CD ‘The afternoon of a phone’ (£@B) and the real time opera 'SINGLR' that takes the form of an app. She started THE VOICE PARTY standing in British election of 2019, music rules. Her vinyl release NANCARROW KARAOKE, a record of Nancarrow piano rolls she transcribed for her own voice multi-tracked, will be summer 2021 on the De Player label.
