Danish Konrad Korabiewski (1978) is an experimental sound and media artist, currently residing and working in Berlin and east Iceland.
Focused on conceptual substance and values rather than being bound to a particular medium, he experiments and develops new possibilities for sensing and expressing philosophical and artistic views. This is immediately apparent in both his live performances, installations and video-works, where Korabiewski often involves other actors and media to craft layers and new dimensions, for instance as with his pioneering and prize awarded cross- over, interactive art-book project Affected As Only A Human Being Can Be (https://paavirketsomkunetmenneskekanvaere.wordpress.com/) (2010) with the mixed media artist Litten.

Konrad Korabiewski’s musical atmosphere is sombre and intense, demonstrating a precise attention to musical space; at times with a meditative character, where distortion expresses an emotional depth that demands and attracts attention in minimalistic scenarios of sound.

In 2014 Konrad Korabiewski was awarded the prestige Berliner Künstlerprogramm des DAAD residency & working grant and nominated for 2 Marl Media Art Awards in Germany. Konrad Korabiewski is currently the director of Skálar - Centre for Sound Art and Experimental Music (http://skalar.is), Seydisfjördur, east Iceland, and independent curator.
