Giuseppe Ielasi wurde 1974 geboren, seit 1990 lebt er in Monza in der Nähe von Milan. Im Jahre 1988 begann er Gitarre zu spielen. Seit vielen Jahren arbeitet er im Bereich der improvisierten Musik. Im Jahre 1999 tourte er in Italien, gemeinsam mit Hans Koch und mit Thomas Lehn/Fabrizio Spera, gefolgt von einer UK Tour gemeinsam mit Bosetti/Rinaldi, Mark Wastell, Roger Turner und anderen englischen Musikern. Anschließend gab er Konzerte in Frankreich gemeinsam mit Michel Doneda (mit ihm entwickelte sich eine lang-anhaltende Zusammenarbeit), Marc Pichelin und Martine Altenburger. Live performed hat Giuseppe Ielasi gemeinsam mit Taku Sugimoto, Jerome Noetinger, Dean Roberts, Nmperign und Brandon Labelle. In den letzten Jahren verlagerte sich sein Hauptinteresse immer mehr auf Raeume bezogene Live Produktion und Distribution von Sound. Er ist der Co-Organisator des Festivals "Superfici Sonore" (sound surfaces) an der Universität von Florenz, Abteilung Architektur, und Co-Author des soundtrack für "The Mission", ein Hörspiel von Heiner Muller, in Auftrag gegeben von Radio Rai. 1998 gründete er das "Fringes recordings" label.

Giuseppe Ielasi was born in 1974, and has lived in Monza near Milan since 1990. He started playing guitar in 1988, and worked for many years in the area of 'improvised music'. In 1999 he participated in tours of Italy with Hans Koch and with Thomas Lehn/Fabrizio Spera, followed by a UK Tour with Bosetti/Rinaldi, Mark Wastell, Roger Turner and other British musicians, and French concerts with Michel Doneda (with whom he developed a long-term collaboration), Marc Pichelin and Martine Altenburger. He has performed live with Taku Sugimoto, Jerome Noetinger, Dean Roberts, Nmperign and Brandon Labelle. In recent years his main interest has been live sound production and diffusion in relationship to space. He is the co-organiser of the festival 'Superfici Sonore' (sound surfaces) at the University of Florence, Architecture Dept, and co-author of the soundtrack for "The Mission", a radio play by Heiner Muller, commissioned by Radio Rai. In 1998 he founded the "Fringes recordings" label.
