Liz Allbee is a composer-performer who works with the imaginarchic potential of sonic material. Recurring themes in her work include embodiments & extensions - relationships between human player, musical instruments, everyday sound objects, and high & low technologies - as well as basic instrument building and strategies for DIY spatialization. She is fascinated by the guttural, proto-linguistic qualities of musical voices. She performs often with her trumpet, quad-trumpet, voice, and electronics. She has performed at Maerzmusik, Darmstadt, CTM, Huddersfield, Donaueschingen, Ostrava Days, Serralves, olzano Museum of Fine Art, Berlin JazzFest, Wien Modern, and Berghain, among others.
