  • 5.1 radiophonic composition created from recordings made inside the glacial mills and ice caves of the Pasterzenkees on the Großglockner, related to the opera Bolyai.

Basic materials are recordings made within the ice caves and glacier mills in the area around the Großer Burgstall (Pasterzenkees at the Großglockner) in August 2021 with the help of the two mountain guides Martin Glantschnig and Matthias Lackner.

The underlying general determining impression: decay and collapse. In the last 30 years, the tongue of the Pasterzen glacier has massively shrunk. Where there used to be ice, there is a dark green lake, with a few small islands and icebergs. The tunnels built on the first stretch of the path towards Wasserfallwinkel have an oppressive effect. The path to Wasserfallwinkel then becomes unkempt, is actually half collapsed. The Oberwalder Hütte, which 30 years ago was easily reached via the Wasserfallwinkelkees, is now only accessible via a difficult climbing route on the steep southern slope of the Großer Burgstall.

Much of the recording was done in a glacier mill on the west side of the Großer Burgstall. Looking west, one sees the Großglockner and its sidling, tourist majesty, Austrian icon. Right next to it, on the western flank of the Großer Burgstall - an apocalyptic picture of decay. Branching frozen waterfalls lead white "drawings" over pitch-black rock faces where there was recently glacial ice. Next to it sterile black earth, and decaying ice covered with fallen black stones.

  • "Egytlen sort körmölt a végére: már nincs mit tagadni, a Kapitány úr nincs többé."

  • "Mientras escribía esta carta, ha muerto, por lo que no hay nada más que decir: el capitán se ha ido."
  • This 5.1 surround radiophonic composition (about 16 minutes) can be understood as an extended "Symphonic Etude" for the last interlude of the opera Bolyai.
