S.I.L.L. - SOUNDS INTERCEPT LITTLE LOVERS
Soundscapes were recorded with the help of Kunstkopf stereophony, which refer to a concrete place or a special situation. The author Erwin Uhrmann wrote lyrical texts for eight of Karlheinz Essl's compositions and recorded them himself. The resulting work of sound art, K.O.P.F., gives rise to the pieces D.U.N.A., D.Y.J.E., G.R.A.Z., L.U.N.Z., M.E.A.L., R.E.T.Z., R.I.D.E. and S.I.L.L. poetically bring to life the atmosphere of the Danube Delta, the countryside along the Thaya, the city center of Graz, Lunz am See, a tavern in Riedenthal, the environs of Retz, four attractions in the Prater and Anton Webern's place of death, Mittersill; the titles designate the place and are at the same time acronyms that challenge the listener's imagination. Through the 3D sound they become immediately tangible and can be found through the cartographic coordinates given.
A book with images, QR codes and an enclosed CD was published by Limbus Verlag in 2021, and the presentation of the project took place on October 13, 2021 at the Literaturhaus Wien.
