RADIOKUNST - KUNSTRADIO

Art's Birthday 2020 - Art is 1,000,057 years old!

Kunstradio Live on air 22:08 – 00:00

Kunstradio Live on air 00:05 – 01:00

Also this year art is being celebrated!

Many members of the Ars Acustica group of the EBU - the European Broadcasting Union broadcast live like Ö1 Kunstradio. And of course elsewhere, like in Kaunas, Tbilisi, Tokyo or Vancouver, people are celebrating, party hats have been folded and confetti scattered ... some of them even painted individually. Why? Because in 1963 the French Fluxus artist Robert Filliou claimed that art was 1,000,000 years old. Art was born when someone dropped or dipped a dry sponge into a bucket of water...

In Vienna, in the ORF Funkhaus, i.e. in Studio 3 of the Radiokulturhaus, there will be a celebration with many artists and guests from 20:00 onwards. The actress Rosanna Ruo leads as Frida Kahlo through the evening. Right at the beginning of Ö1 Kunstradio live, the architect, artist and author Milan Mijalkovic of Makedonien will give a speech on democracy and its origins, as well as on its interplay with the world, entitled "About the majority". The composer duo Rdeča Raketa - aka Maja Osojnik and Matija Schellander, together with the Russian media artist Patrick K.-H. develop an unusual gift for art "...and can not reach the silence". The Iranian composer and sound artist Rojin Sharafi, who lives in Vienna, will then perform live from her new album "Urns waiting to be fed".

Hans Groiß listens into the live events at the EBU satellite and presents the gift to art from Portugal to the radio station RTP Antena 2 "A Dema e Unicornio" by António de Souca Tschias based on the poem "The Lady and the Unicorn" by Maria Teresa Horta. From Ireland RTE Lyric FM broadcasts "Valentia Island" by Judith Ring.

After midnight, the artist and director of WERKSTADT GRAZ Joachim Baur and the singer Nicole Malbec gather in the studio. They bring the "ART'S BIRTHDAY CHANTPEAU ("LE CHAPEAU CHANTANT"), 2020, which they fold and chant.

And at the end of the Live Ö1 Kunstradio Special, the Heavy Mental Superhereos - the Icelandic-Danish sound artist Runar Magnusson, the performance artist Esther Vörösmarty and the visual artist as well as foam expert Josef Trattner offer a radio mass mediation.
