Kosmische Glass
by Timothy Didymus
is a midi programmable glass automata. It can play as an installation via generative software, or be used as an performance instrument. There's also an album out with a foreword by Max Eastley.

“Kosmische Glass is both a musical instrument and an installation, a development from playing liquid filled glasses with fingers. The evolution of ‘musical glasses’ in various histories of musical instruments dates back to the mid 17th century. Didymuses Kosmische Glass can be seen as a technical development.”  Max Eastley 2015

Single material performances (2016–)
by Joshua Legallienne
3.65m2/various dimensions

Joshua Legallienne developed these performances as a way of creating complex acoustic sounds with only a single material, a fine plastic sheet. The sheet is manipulated to create a range of sounds and rhythms. Environmental conditions play a large role, which can dramatically alter the range of sounds that are possible in any performance. Although he regularly performs with a sheet 3.65m2, he has experimented with the form of the sheets, using sheets up to 12 meters in length in certain conditions. As part of my ongoing research into sustainable materials, he has started to create his own bioplastics. He hopes to be using handmade sheets from organic matter as a replacement for the pre-fabricated biodegradable sheets he has used in his performances to date.
