Together with the multimedia/sound artist Jörg Piringer, the authors Patricia Brooks and Judith Nika Pfeifer orbit around the mysterious World of Elements in various appearances, they approach, they linger, they move on. Subject of their poetry is not only hydrogen, antimony, cobalt and Daodejing, but they develop and explore their own elements. These are called “golden girl killer smiles”, “respiratory passages”, “moonless nights”, “breakfast #5” etc.
Each element, each component has its appearances; sometimes the two poets capture ephemeral findings, and sometimes they arrange impressions, thoughts and literary quotations to lyrical chains of reaction. Electronic sounds develop associations further, carry the text, spread moments of irritation or bring the verbal events back down to earth, and then again take off for unknown planets.
Chance, elusiveness, playfulness and – inconspicuously added – science and philosophy are vehicles for investigating the world of elements in a both creative and strategic way. Various forms (poetry, found footage…) are arranged to form a unique and special composition.
