Kunstradio presents a new radio piece by violin artist Jon Rose, a sequel of a project entitled Palimpolin, which Rose has performed on various occasions. „Palimpolin“-Projekct aufbaut.

Artist’s statement:
From 2000-2002 I was involved in creating a website for the Australian Broadcast Commission. It was called "Australian Ad Lib" and was a survey of the wild, the weird, and the vernacular in Australian sonic culture. (I just tried to locate the site to discover that some ignorant idiot in ABC middle management has decided to trash the whole thing – as it no longer exists!) Anyway, on this site were some key examples of the art of auctioneering, which in Australia demonstrates some particular local language features that do not exist in the general population at large. These characteristics deal with speed of delivery, specific word usage, and tonal control that varies considerably from state to state. It is an authentic Australian Sprechstimme or Sprechgesang – and as such I relish in acting out my own contribution to this sonic form.
