von Henrik von Holtum

sound PLAY Excerpt

A love story, told in 55 minutes with fragments of pop songs and evergreens, with phrases and punchlines of the greatest hits and and of the most beautiful love songs of all times. “Boy meets Girl” is a radio piece by Henrik von Holtum aka MC Textor, rapper und co-founder of the German hip hop group Kinderzimmer Productions (until 2007). Later he founded the singer songwriter project Textor & Renz.

For “Boy meets Girl”, Henrik von Holtum uses excerpts of existing songs and composes them into a 55 minutes narrative of a stereotypical love story, starting with the question “What is this thing called love?”, continuing with a search for “Somebody to love”, through to “Boy meets Girl” and “Ain’t Nobody like you”, up to a big breakup, to “Heartache and pain”.

Composition and realisation: Henrik von Holtum Dramaturgy: Frank Halbig Radio premiere: 7. April 2015 Produced by SWR2 Akustische Kunst
