1) „Touchscreen“ (2012)

"Touchscreen" is an audio exploration of surface acoustic waves that emanate from electronic visual displays. "Touchscreen" replaces the touch of the human finger on the screen with an ultrasonic sensor. This sensor functions as a conductive input to capture the sonic activity of the various touchscreen devices.

Each track title references the use of a specific device or software. A series of GUI experiments were performed on the devices including: text/pix messaging, data synchronization, bonus level gameplay, and a cash deposit.

The audio addresses the presence, location, and detection of ultrasonic waves and electro-static fields that pass over touchscreen panels. "Touchscreen" experiments with the event of touch through a series of freestyle-tapping techniques, gestural signal processing, and distorted cadence structures.

All tracks recorded, mixed & mastered by JEFF KOLAR
Released on PANOSPRIA + NO TYPE RECORDS

2) „GSM Buzz“ (2013)

"GSM Buzz" is an audible investigation of electromagnetic interference patterns between mobile phones and computer speakers.

"GSM Buzz" captures bursts of electromagnetic radiation when mobile devices connect to cellular towers. The buzzy bursts are a result of overcrowded cellular networks transmitting data in rapid succession, one after the other, every 0.004615 seconds.

"GSM Buzz" explores these synchronized interference patterns as source material. Each track uses a different generation of mobile wireless Internet to manipulate the repeated humming signals. "GSM Buzz" was produced for the magazine Totally Relaxed by Nick Ferreira.

3) „Remote Control“ (2014)

"Remote Control" is an investigation into domestic electromagnetic activity emitting from wireless remote controls. "Remote Control" transforms pulses of infrared light into audible waves using
discarded remote controllers and hand-built amplitude modulators.

"Remote Control" detects the electronic patterns of infrared energy via a transmitter, a receiver, and a transceiver: a circuit that can both transmit and receive, modulate and demodulate. This open-energy format reveals the sensitive presence and proximity of infrared carrier waves.

"Remote Control" manipulates short line-of-site transmissions through patterned button pressing (i.e. power on/off, fast-forward/rewind), extended scrolling (i.e. volume, channel up/down), and deep system adjustments (i.e. menu, program).

"Remote Control" was produced for broadcast on KUNSTRADIO, and recorded by Martin Leitner and Christian Gortz at the ORF Funkhaus in Vienna, Austria in January 2014.
