The eleventh part of the radio opera “PARADISELOST – Blown Backwards into the Future” is a collaboration of the Czech intermedia artist Michal Kindernay and Marold Langer-Philippsen and uses as its basis the corresponding book or chapter of John Milton’s epoch-making work “Paradise Lost”.

This time, the sounds of the new instalment take us over the seas and oceans to other continents. The first biblical couple of mankind has tasted from the tree of knowledge. However, before they are expelled from the Garden of Eden, they are shown what fate awaits them and their descendents. On a trail of suffering and fear, time is set in motion and invites us to a journey into the future.

PARADISELOST XI ARK consists of six parts that were mainly composed from field recordings and also include quotes from Curzio Malaparte’s “Kaputt” in the English translation by Cesare Foligno:
  1. Morning Soundscapes
  2. Escape
  3. Language and its Confusions
  4. Electromagnetic Waves
  5. Birds
  6. Disillusion & Epilogue
