In a live performance full of feedback sounds and field recordings that refers to the eighth book of John Milton’s “Paradise Lost” – where our ancestor Adam wants to be told again how everything has come about, from the origin of the world and the creation of Eve to life in Paradise – Sarah Washington, Knut Aufermann and Marold Langer-Philippsen ask themselves, “Was it like this? How was it? And how was that again? Do we remember how we were created, born, and raised? In what paradises did we live, or have we been cast out? How do we remember? Do we really remember? Have we already forgotten half of what has just happened, of what was said, done, thought? Would we even recognise what has just been played?”

Marold Langer-Philippsen, who initiated the series “PARADISELOST – Blown Backwards into the Future”, invited Sarah Washington and Knut Aufermann to perform the eighth episode with him live on air in Vienna. Washington and Aufermann helped establish the London radio art station Resonance104.4fm and since 2005 have been working on the project Mobile Radio, which presents temporary radio stations and installations, workshops and performances all over the world. They are also a duo performing under the name Tonic Train and often collaborate with other musicians and artists. Washington and Aufermann are active members of Radia FM, an international network of independent cultural radio stations.
