Listening Proposals“ are contributions to the network of the Ars Acustica, a group within the European Broadcasting Union with a focus on sound art. These two listening proposals were produced by the program Radiocustica on Radio Vltava of the Czech Broadcasting Corporation. The producers of Radiocustica are Michal Rataj und Ladislav Zelezny.

The first piece is by Jan Burian, member of the group Kyklos Galaktikos, a collective of artists, who work in dance, theater, performance and music. „I work with accident, error, and chance. I watch it, let myself be guided, and so my music is created”, says Jan Burian.

All is done.
Completed.
All is prepared.
The final celebration of a long-forgotten nation before the departure.
Now is the right moment to say what should have been said long ago.
Now is the moment for one last look around the landscape.
Now is the moment to bid farewell to all that we have left behind...

The contribution by the group No Pavarotti was recorded at the second edition of the Babel Festival in Prague in October 2012. The festival featured Austrian, British, German and Czech artists, including concerts and performances as well as sound installations and the exhibition „Sound Exchange“ on experimental music in central and eastern Europe.

No Pavarotti was founded by k!amm and Rouilleux in 2009. Their music is defined by the combination of the blurry sound of traditional instruments, noise of many different origins, and 'dehumanized' voice. Genre inspirations include hints of monotonous ambient music, psychedelic rock, and improvised pop.
