Within
the framework of its “curated by” series Kunstradio invites
artists, curators and theorists to create exhibitions of contemporary
radio art that are presented online on kunstradio.at and on air in
several instalments of Kunstradio programmes. The actor, artist and
radio producer Marold Langer-Philippsen put together a “curated
by” version that extends over a whole year. He sees the
twelve-part series as a radio opera produced in collaboration with
various sound artists, composers and musicians who from a contemporary
perspective delve into John Milton’s epic poem, “Paradise
Lost”. „The participants follow the example of the blind John Milton, who dictated his epos that was originally published in ten books, and a few years later was divided up into twelve books – they listen and then process what they heard: conversations & interviews with others and themselves, with passers-by on the street, at universities, in shopping centres, with strangers over a cup of coffee. What paradises did we have? Did you have one or even more? How did they look, what did they sound like? If they have been lost, will they reappear? This is the basic material for the individual parts of the series.“ Links: Movies: short long Blog: http://paradiselost.us |
