At
the beginning of the 1970s, there was a letter exchange program between
children in den Soviet Union and at that time Socialist Chile.
“Letters of friendship“, as the program was called, was
supposed to promote peace and friendship between children from
socialist countries. Letters written in English by the 11-year old Ivan Komarov from USSR and the 12-year old Juan Ramos Aliaga from Chile reveal a moving communication across the globe, coined by juvenile innocence, political propaganda and surprisingly lucid views on the world by the two boys. Amanda Pina, a Chilean artist living in Vienna since 2005, and Andrei Andrianov, a Russian artist, have adpoted the contents of a total of 15 letters they received by coincidence for this Kunstradio radio play. |
