We celebrate 100 years of International Women’s Day with two special
editions of Kunstradio. Four women artists, who have worked with
Kunstradio before, have been asked to each invite one guest of a
younger generation for joint live radio performances. Eight artists,
four duos, two broadcasts, that makes four world premieres in eight
days. The line-up for tonight’s broadcast is Elisabeth Schimana & Tamara Wilhelm and Barbara Huber & Reni Hofmüller. Next week we’ll welcome Monika Rinck & Liesl Ujvary and Heike Kaltenbrunner & Andrea Sodomka. Both episodes are part of a thematic focus on Radio OE1 entitled “ungleich besser (disparately better) – 100 years International Women’s Day”. 1. Good News im QuotenJournalby Tamara Wilhelm and Elisabeth SchimanaMama mia! In February 2011 the Women’s Quota was decided in the Austrian Parliament. Tamara Wilhelm and Elisabeth Schimana explore past years’ errs and future perspectives. 2. electronic de-composera de-composition in one partby Reni Hofmüller and Barbara Huber Decomposing, decomposting, disposal, transformation, recycling fragments of contemporary labour. Labour and its proximity to gender issues have a lot to do with the question of transformation and recycling – of working time, image change, pending necessities and power struggles. The brave new world of labour is a sterile one, softened environments rather than dirty hands, suggesting that labour has vanished, with a new industry appearing on the horizon. How do you render cloud computing audible? Barbara Huber and Reni Hofmüller find out.
