RAPTORreloaded

Part 8
by Tetsuo Kogawa

RAPTORreloaded is an acoustic land art project by alien productions, taking place in the Austrian wine region Weinviertel in association with the cultural festival Viertelfestival. All events take part in the Dürnberg Wine Estate, 2162 Falkenstein.

To save their fruit, winemakers try to scare the birds away, often using acoustical means. Modern systems use sound like the calls of raptors or gunshots. With RAPTORreloaded, sound art is incorporated into these acoustic systems. Composers and artists were invited to contribute art works.

Throughout the duration of the project, until the end of October 2009, Kunstradio broadcasts radiophonic miniatures of the commissioned sound pieces.
