8 locations in London, 4 urban spaces, 4 unspoilt nature...
unspoilt nature? A difficult task in a country's capital city.

Nevertheless, on a journey on the Central Line of the London Underground, from West to East, we discovered two areas you would say are unspoilt – to the west, Ruislip Woods, to the East, Epping Forest and a lake called Connaught Water.

Two more areas within central London were identified. Hyde park is unspoilt in many ways, although being in the very heart of London, and Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park has to be seen to be believed. An open grassland leads to a small wooded area, where gravestones line the paths, overseeing your visit.

In contrast, areas such as Notting Hill Gate and St. Pauls are filled with urban drone and the bustle of pedestrians, although quieter than you'd imagine. Oxford Circus and Liverpool Street station however are exactly what you would expect – busy, noisy, smelly, managing to be both colourful and grey simultaneously.

The photographic data for the project photography were collected by Bev Dale.
