"Luskentyre" was recorded on location on the Scottish Outer Hebrides on the far west coast of the Island of Harris. The piece runs for 32' 45" in stereo and represents one cycle of the tide as the waters of the North Atlantic ocean advance across this beautiful, strange and fragile environment.

The weather systems here on the very western edge of Europe have travelled thousands of kilometres across the open ocean before they arrive and batter the coastline of these remote islands. Luskentyre is a sonic landscape that has been evolving for tens of thousands of years, a habitat washed twice a day by the tides that is neither land or sea, a place where we may at one moment walk and relax, yet would find impossible to survive in just a few hours later. It is the sounds, rhythms and music of another place.
