Der gameboy music club ist ein Zusammenschluss von begeisterten Game Boy-MusikerInnen, die ihre simplen, kleinen Spielkonsolen zweckentfremden und mit den Programmen "nanoloop" und "little sound dj" elektronische Micromusic erzeugen. Ihr Ziel ist es, einen einfachen und lustvollen Zugang zur unendlichen Welt gegenwärtiger Musik zu schaffen.

Da sich der gameboy music club auch als Mannschaft mit sportlichen Ambitionen begreift, fordert er gerne Teams aus anderen Städten heraus. Im aktuellen hot gameboy music club, ein transkontinentaler gameboy sound-streaming Wettbewerb, tritt er unter dem Namen "Spielgemeinschaft GB Vienna" via live-Audio-Streaming gegen die "8bit-Masters New York" an. Kunstradio überträgt dieses "Match" live aus dem OpenAir in New York und dem rhiz in Wien.
Quasi zum "Aufwärmen" gibt es zuvor gameboy music aus der Konserve: Die erste CD des gameboy music club, die bei "plag dich nicht" erschienen ist, wird im rhiz präsentiert.

Beim hot gameboy music club, der monatlich im Wiener rhiz stattfindet, spielen nach den Game Boy- Konzerten auch immer geladene Gäste, die auf portablen elektronischen Geräten kurze microconcerts gestalten. Um dem Frauen-Programmschwerpunkt des rhiz im April Rechnung zu tragen, werden an diesem Abend vor allem Gastmusikerinnen spielen: Irradiation, she's electric, A. Schwarz, angina p., Mieze Medusa u.a. wechseln sich mit MusikerInnen aus dem OpenAir in New York ab (u.a. B.Fleischmann, Christian Egger, Andreas Berger, Meike Randow, Hans Groisz).
Von Mitternacht bis 3 Uhr morgens übernimmt FM4 die Live-Übertragung der microsounds geladener GastmusikerInnen.

Dieser freundschaftliche Wettkampf findet im Rahmen des Festivals "moving patterns" - eine Woche lang zeitgenössische elektronische Musik aus Österreich im Austrian Cultural Forum, New York (23.-30.4.) - statt.

The gameboy music club is a community of enthusiastic game boy musicians who use their simple, small game consolesto produce electronic micromusic with the programmes "nanoloop" and "little sound dj". Their aim is to provide an easy and joyful access to the infinite world of contemporary music.

As the gameboy music club also considers itself as a team with sportive ambitions, it takes pleasure in challenging teams from other cities. For the present hot gameboy music club, a transcontinental gameboy sound-streaming competition, the players line up via live audio-streaming: the "Spielgemeinschaft GB Vienna" against the "8-bit Masters New York". Kunstradio is broadcasting this "match" live from the OpenAir club in New York and the rhiz in Vienna.
To "warm up" there will be canned gameboy music to listen to: the gameboy music club's debut CD, a "plag dich nicht"-release, will be presented at the rhiz.

At each hot gameboy music club which takes place once a month at rhiz, guest musicians play short microconcerts on portable electronic devices after the gameboy concerts. Meeting rhiz' April focus on female artists and djs, mainly women will be invited to give miniconcerts this evening: Irradiation, she's electric, A. Schwarz, angina p., Mieze Medusa a.o. take turns with musicians at the OpenAir in New York (a.o. B.Fleischmann, Christian Egger, Andreas Berger, Meike Randow, Hans Groisz).

From midnight till 3 a.m. FM4 will continue the live broadcast with microsounds produced by these guests.

This friendly contest takes place within the range of the festival "moving patterns" - a week of new electronic music and beyond at the Austrian Cultural Forum in New York (23.-30.4.).
